Blomberg GSN9120 Dishwasher No Power

My dishwasher, a Blomberg GSN9120, seemed to lose all power a couple of days ago. I have checked the obvious consumer unit, fuse in the plug and no issues there. I get no lights on the unit when I turn the main power button on. However, I do get a clunk noise from the electronic flood proof device on the inlet hose and therefore I assume that there is power in the machine and it’s still providing power to the power button on the door and to the hose.

I have checked underneath and no water in the tray or any obvious problems on a visual inspection. Similarly nothing obviously burnt out or wrong to my eye in the door electronics. I’m assuming it’s likely to be the main pcb that’s at fault but would be grateful if anyone has any suggestions to help me clarify where the fault lies before I shell out for a control board (which doesn’t look like the easiest part to get hold of either!)

I doubt it’s the PCB.

For some reason, it sounds as if the machine “thinks” it’s flooded the trick is working out why it seems to think that.

Thanks for the reply. Would you expect the machine to not even light up if it thinks it’s flooded? Definitely not wet at all where the sensor is under the base, although there was a little rust around where it sits.

Yes, it would light up, it has to work out it thinks it’s flooded before it decides what to do about it.

Thanks. In that case I guess it’s something more than just thinking it is flooded as ordinarily the control panel would have lights indicating the dishwasher is on and that’s not happening

If it thinks it’s flooded it’ll just shut down. Might give a code, depends how it’s been set up really.

But without running through things and diagnosing the problem correctly there is no way to know, it’s just a guess otherwise and experience teaches that unless you’re really familiar with the machine that’s normally going to be wrong.

I have finally gotten around to having a proper look. Checked continuity to the pcb and that seems fine. Given that the machine does not light up at all when switched on, would you suspect pcb failure or are there other possibilities still?

based on the info you gave and provided both live and neutral are getting to the board then I agree its most likely a board fault

Just to update, I fitted a new control board and it’s all back up and running. Thanks for everybody’s help!
