ParticipantHi
I have the above washer dryer and the other day while doing a wash and dry load it seems to have developed a fault. The load was two thin blankets, which it’s done many times. I recon it stopped between washing and drying by how dry the contents where when I noticed it had stopped and opened it up.It was making an occasional tick sound, but the screen was entirely blank, and none of the buttons solicit any response whatsoever. I’ve tried it plugged into a different outlet and tried changing the extension lead and the fuse in the plug to no avail. It just seems entirely dead!
Blomberg service have been a total farce, cancelling the appointment the day before, after I’d taken the day off work (and can’t cancel with that little notice). Wonder if anyone has any ideas of anything else I can try with it?
Many thanks

ParticipantSee the post below yours i.e. Beko WDR7543121W. Could be this D7 diode main pcb failure problem.( modern Blombergs are Beko )

ParticipantThough could could be an iffy moulded plug, or the suppressor where the mains cable comes into the machine.

Moderatorthe tick sound sort of suggests a few things. The power supplies in these board has what is called fold back. This is a system that shuts down the power in case of overload. This is only a possible problem with the board and does not affect any of the maches other components and is to do with failed computer chips on the board/s After this happens the chip tries to restart and if the problem still exists it shuts down again. You can only find out if this is the case by measuring the low voltage output from the power regulator on the board. If its true one or both the boards are dead.

ParticipantI just had a similar issue with an Indesit, which is a totally different beast.
The fault on mine was caused by a small amount of water which had got on to the mainboard, made a short circuit, which in turn popped a fusable resistor.
from what the others are suggesting, I’d say whatever the issue, you’re probably going to have to get down and techy with it.August 18, 2024 at 7:40 pm #477095breemunkey
ParticipantI’m posting this in the hope that it might be useful to others in the future. I had same no power issue on my Blomberg LRF285411W washing machine, it wouldn’t turn on at all, but the issue was not the fuse or the plug. It was the D7 diode. I got a replacement for £2.50, opened the back of the washing machine, removed the main circuit board, replaced and re-soldered the diode and now it works again.
