We had this undercounter integrated larder fridge fitted yesterday.
The model we saw in the shop had the door hinged on the right. Our installation requires the door to be hinged on the left, which the installers did and everything is working fine, although they said it took more adjustment than usual.
However, when we open the door, the light switch, a small plastic catch on the upper right side wall of the fridge, scrapes along the plastic shelf in the door, making a noise.
My guess is that when the door is right hinged, the same noise won’t occur, although I haven’t been back to the shop to check, because the angle of opening is completely different.
The catch only just touches the plastic shelf (which isn’t height adjustable) and I’m wondering whether it isn’t supposed to touch it at all and whether something is slightly askew with the installation. The door seal is working, but it doesn’t feel like as solid a fit as the one in the shop.
I wonder is it possible to install an integrated fridge slightly twisted, which in turn causes the catch and shelf to rub, making the scraping noise, which I shall either get used to, or will annoy me forever 🙂
Of course I can go back to the shop for guidance and/or ask Blomberg, but this is my first port of call.
