Hi my washer was on last night, then suddenly stopped. At the same time all the lights etc went out downstairs.

After resetting the tripped switch all the lights came back on, but the washer will not operate. I have checked the fuse in the washer plug but its ok. it had some water/suds coming out of the door as well. I dont have a manual so dont know where to start.

ps I have opened the little door in the front of the machine and drained all the dirty water from there, and it seemed clean inside also.

    thanks

Could be one or two things….they do suffer from leaks from the dispenser which is cunningly placed directly above the door lock so that it goes bang 😕

If water was forced out of the closed door that might suggest a motor control or draining problem, but in ths case the machine would still show some signs of life.

The first thing is to drain the machine (lower the drain hose into a bucket), then unplug it, check the state of the door lock then get your multimeter out.

If that’s out of your capabilities then it’s engineer time.
