Will not fill, inlet valves OK fault traced to O/C aquastop, the hose was crushed due to poor installation.
New hose is £71.00 😯
Will this machine work OK with a bog standard fill hose on it. I know the normal reason for an aquastop is to prevent flooding but looking at the base plate on this machine it has holes in it so if it did leak internally it would still pour out onto the floor.

I can’t see why not, in theory at least maybe?

Well like most flood preventative systems BSH adopt, the float is located at the lowest point on the bottom tray in a recess. So if at any point water should leak from anywhere above it will end up in that point and operate the safety switch shutting off the flow. (or any further filling during a cycle).
There is obviously a reason for you not to invest in the £71 for a new hose system but to be honest it’s the best way forward in my opinion for a pukka job! 🙂

Thanks Martin, it won’t be me who is investing in the new hose though. 😉

I dont think it will work without the hose mate.
I had a miele washing machine that had a faulty aquastop hose and fitting a normal fill hose did not fix it, but if I left the aquastop hose connected (small plug next to the valve) and the normal fill hose it would work ok.
Dont think the one I had was O/C though, just wouldn’t let any water though.

The fill valves are energising so that suggests it will fill, and as the aquastop is open circuit already then leaving the plug off shouldn’t be a problem.
The house is up for sale and she wants me to fit a standard hose then says she will tell the new owners about the hose. :rolls:
I will be getting her to sign my invoice to the effect that she refused to have the correct hose fitted. 😉

had this before it will work but i cant remember what i did with the aquastop plug. ❓ customer was happy as new hose was about 90 euro or a couple of quid for bog standard ,as machine was about 5 years old she said she would take the chance as if it leaked it would be the same as a machine without an aquastop.
