ParticipantHi, hope someone can help.
Have Bosch Avantixx standalone dishwasher (think model is SGS45A02GB).
Check water light on & not draining water.
If start a cycle (pre rinse etc.) there is a clicking noise for 20-30 seconds – presume this is the pump trying empty out first.
Have had unit out, tilted, check all hoses & sink waste for blocks.
Checked ‘entrance’ to the pump impeller under filters & found piece of glass. Removed but no difference. Impeller has resistance when turning (as if on elastic) – is this normal ?How can I get to the pump to replace ?
Have found a spare part online and don’t mind having a go myself (unit is some years old donated by family member).
There are 3 x torx screws on the side panel but can’t work out how to get them off.
Or is access via bottom / front under valence ?Thanks in advance if you can help. Jon

Why on earth would you change the drain pump because it won’t fill?
You almost certainly need one of THESE . 😉
Left hand side panel (from front) off to access, you have to remove the lid first though.

hi, thanks for reply.
Just to be clear – it fills fine. It does not drain.
When put onto a cycle now for 20-30 seconds hear a clicking noise, which I presume is drain cycle not working (they drain before start of each program right ?) and check water light on.
Is the resistance on the impeller I can see under the filters normal then ?
Have seen ‘impeller jug’ reference on other sites.
How can I check my model – there is no number on door/door frame that I can see. I have googled for avantixx and the model quoted is the closest I can find & the online manual works for most things but seems to have extra buttons on front.
Is the part likely to fit OK still ? If so will order Tuesday – worth a try for £15.Thanks in advance – Jon

The model no is stamped on top f the door. Can be very feint. Sounds like you may still have a small shard of glass jammed under pump impellor

Thanks – found the model number on door – VERY feint. It is indeed a Bosch SGS45A02GB.
Will try taking top/sides apart and order part recommended above. Will report back on how it goes.
Thanks all so far.August 26, 2013 at 5:34 pm #399957Martin

Don’t bother yourself doing that, just tip it on its back and remove the bottom plate instead. The pump’s right there……….!

Thanks Martin – do you think it’s the pump at the bottom still stuck / jammed ?
Or is it the same part we are talking about, the impellor jug ?August 28, 2013 at 12:14 pm #399959Martin

Or is it the same part we are talking about, the impellor jug ?Well you said earlier….. “Just to be clear it fills fine……” so I reckon you need to remove the pump from underneath and check it first to be sure it is clear of any and all possible obstructions. Refit and try it. It is true that the Impellor Jug device can create problems with the check water light coming on. Usually the symptoms there are that it constantly fills and drains in rapid succession. That is a typical Impellor jug fault, but you reckon it fills OK so best check out that pump first. 😉

sounds the same as mine, tip it on its back, not the door side and take off the metal base, might be a little earth connector on it so be carefull, pump is just a screw fit on one, i’ll assume it has abit more glass in jamming it, the pump impeller has some resistance to it, if it doesn’t work after that, and you’ve put the correct connectors back on in the right place, then its a new pump, only like £30.

UPDATE – Fixed on Saturday and 4-5 washes successfully since.
Checked the pump fins could turn OK – still some resistance but did turn OK.
Replaced the Impellor Jug – took ages to get the hoses off and back on mine and had to have side and bottom panels off.(sorry bought from espares as in stock with n/day delivery)
Spare part – great service, next day delivery with accurate tracking. Exactly the same part as on original.

Hmm, did you check to see if it was in stock at the ukwhitegoods store?
Its nearly £4 less than you paid, full order tracking and the last time I ordered a part from the ukwhitegoods store it was ordered at 3.00PM and arrived at 12.00 noon the following day. 😛 8)
Glad to hear you it sorted though. 😀

Did try but had problems with my Paypal and wasn’t clear it would be delivered by the weekend.
Will definately look here first if I need anything else in the future though – and great forums.
Thanks – saved me call out & repair fee at least, and cost of replacement at worst.May 1, 2014 at 7:55 am #399965DublinDS
