Wow! The Siemens iQ300 range are exactly the same mechanically as the current Bosch WAQ range with sealed tank. No wonder why it was pitched lower than Bosch.

Same machine in a more expensive skirt :rotfl:

Same as Zanussi in an AEG.

So the reviews on Which? doesn’t give an accurate picture after all. People are being hoodwinked left and right!

Which magazine like all other review sites use manufacturers badge names. sadly it’s not like the old days when one name was one manufacturer.

It is only a guide after all 😉

Having replaced my kitchen appliances a year ago I have had the Bosch microwave replaced, the Bosch washing machine replaced and the Neff oven replaced twice.
Fisher & Paykel have been out to the fridge freezer twice for minor problems.
The Bosch microwave is still faulty and after being replaced, Bosch technical (Germany) looking into the problem it took 6 months to tell me it’s user error!
It really is a problem knowing what to recommend.

Solution : Don’t recommend, let ‘them’ make the choice, shifts the onus if you catch my drift?

had a WAQ 8 kilo drum bearings gone today at FD9209 (looks brand new otherwise, no abuse here) and very next call a WM12Q360gb12 bearing failure at FD9304. Early long lunch break for me then.

I’m a little confused, was this a machine purchased 21 years ago and disposed of 5 years ago? If so, the 1990’s Hotpoints, and earlier, were unbeatable. However, the 21st century machines have been significantly less desirable.

The factories that churn this stuff out can’t make them fast enough to keep up with demand.

Sales in their tumble dryers has slowed a little but once the ‘smoke’ clears demand will continue apace.

I have a customer asking for my views and recommendations on replacing the *ahem* four years old Bosch WAQ model (bearings failure) for another WAQ. To be honest I am surprised that they are still selling the WAQ models, maybe they are slow moving stock that people got wise? She was heavily influenced by Which? on their tests and reviews, WAQ is the model that got good score. I beg to differ here as an engineer.

I am rather frustrated by it and unable to tell the different between the Siemens and yet they are pitched cheaper than Bosch and remains the same internals. Feeling rather confused.com….

If it helps, WAT is now the new version of the outgoing WAQ’s. Funnily enough ive noticed in pricing up repairs the 1stGen-WAQs used a different sealed tub to the 2ndGen WAQs. However these still seem to have a 10 load/week mileage of 3-4 years

Also noticed production of the late WAQ’s has moved from poland back to spain. Havent been asked for a WAT yet so cant say where they are coming from atm
