I removed the old brushes (which were very short).
The new brushes have a taper – so have to face the right direction

Unfortunately the old ones sprung out so quickly I’m unsure which way.

Does the spindle / axle rotate anti-clockwise or clockwise?
(Should the brush faces be O or /O/ )

    Thanks very much

What ever way sounds the smoothest!!!

You will know when you even turn the motor pulley by hand!!

Make sure machine is unplugged when refitting motor / parts!!

Thanks for the amazingly quick reply….

Turning the spindle either way produces a slight rubbing sound – but equal.

Looking from the brush end, should they be O or /O/

    Hi
I usually do one at a time.
Turn motor spindle by hand and if it sounds and feels like a jackhammer, remove brush and turn round.

If you look at the brush , it will have one side longer than the other . This longer side goes on the same side as the connector that attaches to the brush itself .

i.e If the connector comes in from the right hand side , then that the longer edge of the new brush
