Does anyone know if the stainless inner tub is available for this please. I have one with a porous tub, is this common?
I cannot find it on the Bosch site.
Thanks 😉August 29, 2006 at 7:31 pm #186933gegsy

Hi Malt
Not a spare Im afraid.
Most common reasons for porous tanks are knifes falling down whilst loading and clumsy salt replemishment and leaving crystals to stay in contact with tank.
There is a special solder available to enable repair, can’t think for the life of me what it is, Boro will know 😉Greg

Thanks Greg
Solder would be good if I could actually find the hole!! ( nurse the blinds) I know its there but it’s behind the sound proofing.

Get a big torch put it tank close door and look underneath tank 😀 Works for me. You will need time for your eyes to get used to the dark aswell 😆

If you can find the hole (Nurse, the screens!), Granville’s PetroPutty is the business.

Have written off around half a dozen dishwashers with salt corroded bases. Would like to know where you get this solder from as it seems a shame to throw away what is often a nearly new dishwasher with just a small pin hole in the base.

Mal,
I find letting the m/c fill to level then opening the door and watching for the drips works.
Normally it is in the goove where the filters sit.

I hand filled the DW with a jug and kept checking at different levels, my opinion is the same as yours, where the groove is. It would be nice to find out if BSH would supply the solder, good customer relations and all that the DW is less than 6 years old and she is not happy that it may be a right off

Granvilles Petro Putty is favourite as P45 suggests. Silver solder is what BSH use:
