I have a problem with my Bosch Dishwasher, (number starts SGS09A08), absolutely no power. Replaced fuse and with machine turned off plugged it back in and imediate flash, bang from cable entry, which I can now see soot round.
I gather that this is a common problem and involves replacing the suppressor/capacitor. No problem I bought one as they are quite cheap, but I cant figure out how to remove the plastic plate which contains the cable entry, to gain access to the capacitor.
I am told that I don’t need to take the side off the machine.
The plate has 4 slots about 5mmx1mm which I though might be so that you could lever some tags back, but nothing wants to move.
Before I go and break something, more expensive, can somone give me an idea of how this plate is retained/removed.
It probably just a case of pulling in the right direction but the plate seems pretty flimsy.

    Re: Bosch Capacitor Replacement

when the plate it put in is slides and locks

either the left or right hand side has to be prised up to allow it to slide

think you prise left and slide left but dont hold me to that

you may have got this wrong. normally when this cap fails the unit blows fuses. the fact it is dead may point more to a timer fault. what i would do is take the door to bits and use a multimeter to buzz through the wire from the plug to the on off switch. that way you know the power is getting into the door
