ParticipantHi,
Just wondering if anyone can please help.My bosch washer has started to make a chatter sound.I started about 4 weeks ago.I’m concerned it could be bearing starting to go.
Ill add as much info as I can on what I’ve done and I’m including a 2 min video (please turn vol up) and you will see it stops when I put my hand on the drum parts.
Washer is 5 yrs old, used twice a week sometimes 3.
no play in drum, bolts tight on the weight, springs re-greased up,checked if leg bolts are loose.took belt off and cleaned the spindle and refitted belt.I think it could be a noisy bearing, but wondering why its shutting up when i touch the drum. Also no noise when I manually turn the drum.
Ill add it only does this on around 1000 spin, once it goes to its max spin (1200) it does stop. doesn’t make the sound on wash cycle.
Only other think I thought about was belt slipping, but im sure I read it just wont spin if this is happening.
Any ideas?Thank you Really appreciate your help
its a bosch model number WAE24367GB
Heres the video from youtube..

WD40 often cures all though a little light grease on the bolts wont harm. Also check carefully that the welds on the cabinet base are not cracked.

Thanks,I’ve taken the bottom bolts out and greased them up,I noticed one shocker was easier to press,i’m not sure how much tension any are supposed to have as both was easy so to speak.I was expecting gas filled things, just seems like a shaft in a plastic casing.
Anyway the tops of the shocks have a plastic bolt knocked through so not been able to remove them as wasn’t sure if they would go back in.
Put a wash on and ill report back later on.
Btw -all welds are ok from what I can see. 🙂

You are one top guy martin, the chatter has stopped after greasing the bottom bolts off!!
I’m chuffed to bits,,can’t thank you enough.!!
But it does seem it needs a new shock,as one side you can push really easy,,what I’ve don’t for now is put a cable tie around the shaft and which has tightened it and made it the same as the other one.
They are really expensive for my washer make, but have found after market ones for 1/3 the price. What are your views on aftermarket shock?
Thank you again! 😀

No, only buy the genuine NEW replacement as that comes as a kit including the new style fixing bolts. The plastic pin that attaches the shocker to the drum has to be knocked out, holed redriled and new bolt inserted. Kit includes full instuction leaflet by the way.
Peace be upon your washdays. 😉
