I have a problem with my Bosch class1xx dishwasher, having not run for a couple of months i put it on eco program. Later when i returned the check water light is on and a strange noise from the machine. The wash cycle had not completed and on pulling out the machine to check if the water was turned on (it was) i discovered water leaking from what appears to be 2 small openings at the rear of the machine. Filter checked ok, any ideas much appreciated

from what you described the base has flooded and the sound you are hearing is the water punp running to stop any further leaks
there are a number of things that can cause it

foaming due to exess or wrong detergent
leaks either through component failure, dirt on seals or even mice

you need to drain base and run it again after cleaning door seals etc and watch for water leakage in the base

some machine you can tip but you have to be careful you dont get electrics wet
best way take a side off and mop it out
