Moderatorno problem
machine was made may 2006 just for your interest
heater
https://shop.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/d321400as-compatible-washing-machine-heating-elementsince you cant use the machine before you order take out the old element and look for mechanical damage. What i am trying to make sure is there is nothing wrong with your drum before you put in a new heater. what can happen is the drum spider fails and on spin the drum can catch the heater and wear through the metal causing a short. So look for signs of contact about two thirds down the heater

ParticipantHello many thanks for the part, now I got difficulty fitting it at the moment unsure if I need to locate any drum retaining clip at the front of this machine, I have removed the panel/screws at the bottom to ease the front away, but now wondering if I am going about this the wrong way. Noticed rubber off the seal on the inside of the drum and on a spin knocking and noisy this time. Anything I need to check, with regards to the noise?

Moderatordont have to trmoce drum to remove element
undo nut in the middle of old element and leave nut just on the end of the thread
tap nut with pliers or small hammer. This releases pressure on the seal. you will then have to carefully prise it out. can be a challenge, the importent but is not to damage the tub whar it seals.
once its out check there is no rubbish in the bottom of the tub, then insert the new heater and tighten the nut. be carefull to tighten it enough to seal but not too much as the bolt can snapassume you know the complete front of the machine comes off for access
