ParticipantHi,
Model is: SGS53C02
Wife opened the door mid cycle yesterday and left it adjar for about 30 minutes. Now, the DW will not drain. I’ve run it 5 or 6 times on rinse only without filters and have to drain manually with a glass and sponge. I have read some similar posts but have no idea where the pump impeller is located.
Under the filters is simply moulded grey plastic with no screws or covers to remove.
Any advice appreciated.

Seperate drain pump on this one – no access cover in the sump.
Pull the plug. Bail out as much water as you can. Tip the machine back to a good angle and remove the cover plate under the machine. Drain pump is in the front left corner and is a twist-fit. It’s possible that it’s failed; far more likely that you’ll find a foreign body in there when you remove it.

Thanks very much for this. Don’t suppose there are any images or a technical manual I can download before I start?

If you go onto http://www.bshcustomerservice.com and follow the links into spares you can call up exploded diagrams of your appliance, but that’s as much as you can get….

Thanks again. Been there and can’t see anything remotely like the drain pump. Probably my crap computer skills!

Apply some traditional skills……. With the base cover off, look up at the front left corner of the machine. You’re looking for something like THIS CHAPPIE.

Well I got the cover off and can see the pump. For the life of me I can’t budge it and don’t want to use too much force. It appears to be a twist off connector. Should I be disconnecting something first or what is the correct method of getting the little bugger off?

I’ve also removed the toe panel which allows easier access to the pump but still cannot move the bugger!

There is a locking latch which will need to be depressed. Forgot about that… 😳
You’ll probably have to remove the lower front cover panel to see properly.

Hi,
I’ve removed the toe / kicker panel as well as the steel plate under the DW and have got a good view of the pump but cannot for the life of me see anything which I can pull or push to aid in release….any clues or pics?
Cheers
