Hi, we have a problem with our Bosch dishwasher ( ENr SGS43CO2GB/43 FD 8310 ). A few days ago it started giving off a burning smell towards the end of its cycle and then tripped the fuse. When we reset the fuse there was a “pop” sound and it tripped again. Once the fuse was reset again, the dishwasher appeared to still be working. The next day we did a couple of empty cycles to test it and all appeared fine, but since then we’ve done a couple of normal washes and both times it’s tripped the fuse towards the end. However, each time it continues after the reset. The washing action itself appears to be normal ie the dishes come out clean.

There is a similar sounding fault reported somewhere in this forum and the suggested fix was to replace a capacitor / suppressor (part no 600233) ?

Can anyone advise whether that item could indeed cause these symptoms and, if so, is it something a reasonably competent person ( me ) could replace.

Any advice would be much appreciated

    Thanks

Mains supressor is THIS LITLE CHAPPIE, fitted in the back right corner.

Nimble fingers required and power off first.

Thanks very much for the quick response.

So to clarify then, this suppressor can cause these symptoms? And just out of interest, what is the function of a suppressor? I am assuming it stops any spikes/surges which would otherwise cause the fuse to trip and the fact that it’s blown on our machine is now causing exactly that to happen. Is that close?

    Cheers

Yes , it can cause exaclty those symptons. you may see a blackened area around where the mains cable enters the back of the appliance or the suppressor itself will be black and look like its split.

    Many thanks. That’s much appreciated.

Now I just need to check out whether I can actually find and access this suppressor chappie and then I’ll get one ordered.

    Cheers.

Just a quick update. Fitted new suppressor ( supplied by UKW ) and we’ve had no problems since. Happy days!

Many thanks for the assistance. It’s much appreciated.
