Participantthe above mentioned washing machine has worked perfecly for quite a long while but now it has started to leave a small pool of water on the floor…
It still works perfectly and the water isnt there when the machine has finished its cycle but appears sometime just after (i havent caught it in the act yet)…
ive checked underneath and can find no sign of a leak or any parts that are wet or signal a problem (but i dont know what im looking for so im proably missing something)…
any thoughts?
im hoping this is possible DIY fix…thanks all

hi,
have you checked the hoses at the back of the machine and the filter is in tight?
the only thing which will leak after the machine is finished is the fill hoses or the pump.
plug out before checking.January 30, 2008 at 7:33 pm #241614wallofbeans

ive checked the hoses and all seems to be good. there’s no sign of water around them either and the pool of water seems to be gathering underneath the machine nearer the middle or towards the front…
where would the filter be and how do i check it is in tight?

i thought the “Bosch Classixx 1000 Express” i put in the title was the model number..?
if that’s not it, where might it be written on the machine?

it cant be the machine! if the machine was leaking it will leak when on a wash or rinse or when draining!…is the waste water going out down a stand pipe and is this blocked?

I would be looking for a small hole in the door seal.
The highest water level is towards the end which may indicate that the hole is not low down as in the wash water levels 😕Greg

but he says the leak is visible after the wash has finished, it does 3 rinses, if the hole was further up it would at least start to leak on the first or second rinse!

okay – i just put a wash on and watched.. i wasnt completely sure when the water leaked, i just hadnt spotted it while the machine was on and i think it takes a while to make its way forward so i see it infront of the machine…
it was only a couple of mins in when water appeared on the floor below the machine.. it seems to be a very slow drip landing on the floor under the machine, near the front right hand side…
sorry for any wrong info… does this signal any obvious problems?

How can I put this to you politely? We don’t know where it leaks from, we can’t see it. Lid off, check all around the soap dispenser. Lift the pleat of the door seal and look closely, there may well be a pin hole. Failing that, you’ll have to get the front off and look for the soap tracks.
We can only offer pointers – it’s up to you to get in there and find it. Or, send for us……. We are the pros, after all.

i was just hoping it would be something that happens all the time and i could tighten a screw or fix a loose pipe… and that me posting the fact that the drip is on the far right side at the front would signal that a specific part was at fault (or at least cancel some out) and suggest possibilities…
the powder goes in on the left so i thought the clear water coming from the far right might signal something…
im assuming a hole means something will need replacing and that’s beyond my DIY skills… i might well have a look inside and see if its obvious where the problem is once i can see the workings.. otherwise, i guess i will have to call in an expert…
frustrating though coz money is tight right now and i was hoping i could sort this out myself…
thanks for the help…

It’s what you want to make of it – if you can wield a screwdriver, a bit of patience and logic is all you need. Bosch parts are not overly expensive (could be better, but so could they all) and freely available.
We can’t walk you through a specific repair, but a bit of direction gets most posters going.
Get in there!
