Hi,

The above pumped packed up and was replaced, all Ok for a bit and then it wouldn’t spin so I changed the motor brushes and that fixed that.

It then started to blow the fuse at the plug on a hot wash – we then ran it on a warm wash until it started to blow the fuse on that after a couple of months (I was busy/away, building work etc etc just seemed to get in the way..)

I replaced the heater element and did a 90C wash, all OK. It then did another 3 washes and then blew the plug fuse on a cool wash.

It now seems to blow within a minute or two of starting the cycle, whilst its still filling.

Any suggestions?

thanks for the reply, the heater is new so probably not that?

where is the suppressor and what does it do?

The door lock is just that? just the latch with the wires? nothing further up inside that I need to worry about?

The mains suppressor is inside the appliance at the end of the mains cable

I’ve just got the covers off & my multi meter out.

Everything looks dry in side and I can’t see any sign of moisture.

I changed the 3 ping plug and put it on a circuit on a new consumer unit – the RCD trips and takes the panel out – earth problem then?

Looking at the machine, if I put my meter across the right hand terminal of the heater (after taking the spade connector off, I get a resistance reading between that terminal and the earth spade. I also get a resistance reading between the thermostat terminal and earth.

I’m assuming that anything to earth should really be open circuit and this is wrong?

The heater is brand new and has only done a couple of washes
