    Hi all,

Hope your collective wisdom can help me! Our old Zanussi Aquacycle washing machine gave up the ghost yesterday (bearings gone!) and with two little ones in the house we need a replacement sharpish!

Can’t really afford new, but have found a Bosch Classixx 1200 Express, approx five years old and only lightly used (older couple who don’t get through a lot of clothes, apparently!) for £95. Reason for sale is that they got a larger machine from their daughter which can take a duvet.

Reading up, it seems the Bosch brand is a favourite recommendation on here, so I’d appreciate your thoughts on whether this is worth going for – any known problems or issues to be aware of (for instance, I read about sealed tubs?)

Many thanks in advance for your help.

    Andrew

Not bad machines. Check the bearings before you get it. They can be replaced but it is quite a big job. Main problems are the normal brushes, door seal , pump etc

Thanks for the responses so far! I pretty sure it’s a WAE24162GB (or possibly WAE24162UK?), although I’ve not received confirmation of that yet. However, I do have a pic of the actual machine for sale:

Thanks for the nod re the bearings, seal, etc – the seller lists it as in perfect working condition and having spoken to her, I’m reasonably confident that’s correct (gotta love buying stuff from older folk), but I’ll give the drum a check to be on the safe side.

    Any other machine-specific advice? 🙂

Good buy. I’d have one. In fact I’ve got the same model but with display.
