Participanti hve had this washing machine for almost 4 yrs now and to be fair, other than a couple of things it has been faultless. however today it all went to pot.
it starts any cycle and goes thru until the spin element, at which point it fails to drain or spin. i have checked the waste pipes etc and found no blockage, nothing appears to be blocking inside the machine, and using the little black tube at the front the machine does eventually drain, at which point the machine will spin and finish the cycle.
i figure something is wrong (doh!) but prob not too serious but i am lost, brushes belt or something, any advice would be welcome. at this time of yr i hope i need neither an expensive repair or a new machine
thanks

It drains during wash also which makes me think rinse hold may be activated?
Pop the model number up from around the door or the rear 😀Greg

hi gegsy,
thanks for replying firstly, and i will get eh model number up later, the missus noticed that it drained thru the night so she spun the contents and put another wash on – dont ask!
the rinse hold option on this machine is a knob you have to turn and tbh i dont think we have ever used it. is it possible for the rinse hold to turn itself on as it were?
my thought is that as it drained albeit slowly during the night that there must be a block somewhere, though i could find nothing in the pipe, but perhaps the whole thing needs to come off

ParticipantHave you done the simple check of the drain pump impellor ?
Switch the applaince to ‘drain’ and start . Does the pump come on ?
If you can’t hear the pump come on then there may well be a blockage in the impellor. You will need to remove the fluff filter in the bottom right corner.
Be prepared for some water to come out and power off before doing any investigationsNovember 21, 2008 at 6:12 pm #269127vokeyuk

i did try the drain option, but nothing happened, some noise as if it were trying to do something but no more than that. i will open up the impellor and have a look and let you know. will also post the serial number later.
thanks for looking in
