Bosch Classixx 1200 Express WFO 2467GB/15 – won’t spin

My washing machine WFO 2467GB/15 was working fine this morning, but then broke. I have drained and cleaned out the filter/drain pump on the bottom right hand side of the machine and have also cleaned out the supply hose, strainer and filter that runs between the mains water and the top back left hand side of the machine.

What happens is that you set the machine to a programme and press start. The machine makes the usual start sound and the timer starts to count down. However, the drum does not turn and no water appears in the drum (indeed, clothes removed are dry). It then makes sounds as if it is filling with water, but nothing happens. Eventually, it gets to the rinse stage, the timer goes blank and the red light by “rinse” starts flashing.

I’m no electrician or expert, but wondered if anyone was able to point me in the right direction?

Is there water actually flowing in through the soap drawer? If so it’s probably siphoning out, check the drain pipe and reposition. If there’s no water going in, and the water supply is definitely on & hoses aren’t kinked (test by undoing inlet hose), then it’s likely a faulty inlet valve or wiring to the inlet valve. Test them with a multimeter, one will be open circuit and will need the solenoid, or complete valve, replaced.
