Bosch Classixx burning smell and smoke

Bosch Classixx 1200 express E-Nr. WAE24162GB/03 FD 8605 604280 making knocking noise and cuts out power with element connected, what issue or what would I need to check when I removed the old element and there is a groove in it near the seal end of the element. Also where could I find out which way the heating element should be fitted and if the green connection fits on the right or left of the element. Any help appreciated at this difficult time

heater is put in so the wires hang correctly. so that means green goes on the right so cables will hang down

you also saying its making a noise now which was one of the questions i asked you. its sounding more and more like a dum spider issue which will make it beyond economical repair
