I have a Bosch Classixx dishwasher that will not fully drain.

The model number is SGS53C12 UK/01

I’ve drained it with a sponge and flipped open the cover on the bottom left of the draining well. There was nothing obviously blocking the impellor and when I turned it, it ‘pinged’ round.

Is the pump accessed from underneath?
If so, is it ok to turn the dishwasher upside down?

Also, when I try the reset function, the lights just flash and nothing happens. Does this suggest the pump is faulty rather than blocked?

Any help would be much appreciated.

You have accessed the drain pump. Under no circumstance invert the machine.

Define “not fully draining” – there will always be 1/2″ of water left in the bottom of the sump.

there is water covering the bottom of the dishwasher (above the filter), not enough that it spills out when you open the door but enough to slosh about the place.

    I’ll post a photo tonight.

So, how do i get access to the pump assembly if not from the bottom? There is no access from inside the machine.

Or can I tip the machine to 45 degrees to open up underneath it?

There is no user access to the pump through the sump of the machine. Remove outer door panel and kick panel to reveal the drain pump in the front left corner. It’s a twist fit – release the locking catch and turn the pump body to remove. It’s really, really awkward… You can remove the undertray for better access.

    Power off first,
