    Good afternoon,

The above dishwasher begins its cycle well; i.e. lets water in, and pumps water around internally. (water pressure appears high, circulation pump working)

However, after draining the initial dirty water, the m/c then refuses to carry on through its cycle.

I don’t know where to start looking, as the main functions work for a while and then stop!

Could someone advise on a test procedure for this fault please?

    Kind regards,

    jontymox

    Thanks iadom,

I’m wondering if it’s the control module, as I’ve tried a new inlet valve to no avail.

The m/c works initially, then stops and is dry!

I think what gegsy meant was does it stop silent, or is it humming and are any lights showing. 😉

    Good morning,

    Sorry… yes, my mistake/oversight.

The m/c does humm (pump?) but no water in system other than residual.

Only light showing is selected programme LED

First check is the obvious…is the supply tap turned on, and is there a decent water pressure?

If it sounds like the drain pump runs continuously and nothing else happens then it may be that the flood protection has tripped. This is usually due to food residues on the inlet side….take the LHS panel off and check that the hoses and chamber near the bottom are clean…

    Thanks Clive,

Yes, the water pressure is fine, and I have checked the matrix for blockages.

The m/c works well for about 15 mins, then stops with the aforementioned humming noise.

    Back to the drawing board!

If you reset and start programme again will it start up ok again for a further 15mins?
It may be a the re-circulation pump seizing when it get warm ?

It would probably help if you could identify the exact part which is humming 😉

    ha ha,

I’m fairly confident that it is the re-circulation pump that is making the noise. Will try and confirm later though difficult due to location and low noise.

However, this does not explain the fact no water is evident after the first cycle.

Surely the pump will try to work, but obviously not very efficiently without water!

I’m wondering if the control module is fauly too.

I’ve had a handful of float switches stick shut…worth a look especially if the chamber and transfer hose have been gunked 😉

Re: Bosch Classixx dishwasher E-Nr SGS43C02GB/35

That’s a strange one. If it’s dry and it’s humming, my money’s on the water supply. Maybe there’s an intermittent blockage at the tap end. Not a self-plumb fitting by any chance? Sometimes they don’t screw in the cutter far enough.
    Mike.
