Bosch Classixx dishwasher turns itself off mid program

My Bosch Classixx dishwasher (SMS40C02GB/07) turns itself off mid program and never completes a program

On Normal program it starts at 2 hours 10 minutes and always shuts itself off at 1 hour 59 minutes remaining. Water has been in the machine and maybe a little still at the bottom. Switching it off then on at the mains then pressing the On button on the machine will turn on then try and resume from where it last left off, holding down the Start button to reset it will drain away any water remaining

On Quick program it starts at 29 minutes and always shuts itself off at 16 minutes remaining. Water has been in the machine and some still at the bottom. When opening the door lots of steam comes out so it has been heating up a decent amount. Switching it off then on at the mains then pressing the On button on the machine will turn on then try and resume from where it last left off, holding down the Start button to reset it will drain away any water remaining

Searching the internet i can find other Bosch models have some sort of test program to get some sort of useful code out the machine to find out whats wrong, but i cant find anything for my dishwasher and no error codes are ever displayed on the machine, everything just goes dead.

Does anyone know how to out it in a test mode to find an error code, or know what could be wrong with the machine?

To hazzard a guess! Does the door shut nice and square? Have had similar models where it is the door latch and inner door sensor. What happens is withe the compression of the steam against the door especially if the machine has just part filled up with cold water and the motor kicks in the steam is compessed and if the latch / sensor plate top of s/steel door is slightly misaligned the machine stops. You then come along pressing buttons which the pushes door in and machine trhen restarts. A theory if nothing else.

Hi, Thanks very much for your reply and theory.
I have just taken a look and it looks like the door shuts ok and square, but to be honest i dont know what is going on with the door latch. Manually pushing it and it is not smooth and free, but i dont know how it should be.
What does the left push lever meant to do and when should it be activated? when i manually push it the top latch jumps down and seems to lock in place, but the noise this makes does not happen when shutting the door. And only with shutting the door and opening again can i get the latch to go back up, i cant push it up.

Should shutting the dishwasher door push the lever so that the latch jumps down? (i have no idea whether it does this when shutting the door or not, but the sounds it makes when i do it manually with the door open is quite loud and i dont think it makes this sound when shutting the door)

Also, directly above the latch on the top (under the top cover) there is a plastic arm that i can pull and then move to the left, and it moves some metal sounding mechanism, what does that do?

Just had the dishwasher out completely and checked:

the water pipe and waste pipe no kinks and all looks good
tested the water in and water pressure should be good

The only thing i had a little query on was a fitting behind the top shelf which seals in to the holes at the back for the top spray arm spinner. It is very loose in the back of the shelf but seems to marry up with the holes at the back.

Could something around this area stop and turn off the dishwasher mid program like?

Any other areas i could look at?
