ParticipantIt just gets stuck part-way through the cycle and goes on and on showing the same time remaining. The water will not drain out of the machine. I have syphoned it out, and the cycle continues, but then as soon as it fills up again with the next part of the cycle it gets stuck again.

poss a piece of glass or ceramic in pump

I think it is
SGS45C02GB/16.
Does that seem right? There is also, in smaller type, FD9002 and 01393.January 2, 2015 at 1:00 am #423113electrofix

go to
http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/spareparts/search
put your Enr in
selsct parts diagrams
the drain pump can be seen on diagram 4 labelled 0424
to clear pump go to diagram 5 the cover labelled 0522 is accessed through the door. remove filter, remove screw holding filter. dry out with sponges and kitchen roll. look for obstrution and remove. i find a peice of wire coathanger with a small hook on the end is a great help

Thanks, Dave. I’ve removed the filter (there isn’t a screw that I can find, it just fits in place) and a white plastic wedge-shaped cover at the bottom of the pit and revealed the “propellor” which presumably sucks the water out of the dishwasher. Unfortunately it seems to turn without obstruction so it looks as if that may not be the problem…

did you check properly i have had glass peices that only catch if the pump is running and they are hard to see
if that is clear you are looking for blockages. check where the hose terminates at the sink. would also not be the first time i have had a fat blockage in a hose

Ah! that’s a thought, Dave. There’s been a lot of fat around over the past couple of weeks (!) and the filters were thick with it.
I’ll take a look at the hose (though it involves turning off the water at the mains as I cannot get the dishwasher out of its cavity otherwise). Could it be blocked at the dishwasher end of the hose? And is that accessible?
