    Hi all

My problem is a noisy knocking sound coming from the machine on spin.

I can’t hear anything untoward on wash, but a loud ticking or knocking sound when on all spin speeds. The springs and dampeners look OK, moving position of drum while spinning has no effect on the sound.
The belt looks well tensioned and is in good condition. I cant see any play between drum and flywheel which has the belt on it.
Machine is around 3 years old and has had only light use.

I read elsewhere on the forums that maybe something is trapped between drum and tub, but cant see how to check this

Also is there any test to check condition of the bearings?

Is there anything else I can check myself?

Many thanks in advance for any advice

Is the noise more noticeable on the start of a spin i.e at slower spin speeds ?

It could be the springs need regreasing where they hang on the cabinet . Sometimes the grease at the top of the spring where it hooks in can wear away and the spring ‘jumps’ in the groove at slower spin speeds and the metal against metal can cause a sort of ‘be-doing’ noise ( sorry , thats the best way to explain it 🙂 )

Re: Bosch Classixx Express 1200 noisy spin

    Thanks Paul,

The noise happens once speed is above 200 rpm (estimate) and the all the way up to 1200, though we have only been using it this last week at 600 rpm.
I understand what you mean in your explanation, but springs are well greased and the noise continues even if I lift up or press down on the concrete to adjust the downward forces.

    many thanks crabapple
