ParticipantHi Dave sorry for hijacking this thread but I also have the same issue with lights flashing and compressor starting, stopping.
i have run auto test and checked heaters, fans, diverted valve and sensors are ok.
Model is KGU31123GB/07
FD8405
Any ideas what capacitor I need to replace as the one shown in this is slightly different from your previously posted picture.
Many thanks.September 12, 2019 at 8:57 pm #463071electrofix
Moderatorcant get a decent pic of the control module ie one that’s big enough so you will have to post one

ParticipantMorning Dave,
I have been unable to upload a picture of the module because the file size is too big. Is there another way I can share the picture of the module?

Moderatorby using an external hosting site and posting a link on the page. make sure the link you post is a public one and not one where you would need a password etc

ParticipantHi Dave, I replaced that capacitor you mentioned, the appliance switched on and worked for a bit but when I closed the freezer door the compressor stopped and the lights on the front panel switched off then on. This kept doing this all the time the freezer door was closed. If I kept the freezer door open the compressor would run and the lights stayed on.
I closed the freezer door and the appliance was working for about 2 hours then went back to how it was before with the compressor, lights on the PCB front panel and fans switching on and off very couple of seconds unless I leave the freezer door open.
Does this now need a new pcb or could anything else be causing the issue?September 22, 2019 at 12:25 am #463080electrofix
Moderatorthat’s very weird. I know there may be a switch on the freezer door if its self defrosting that cuts out the fan but cant think why its doing this. when it switches off does the display die as well ?

ParticipantHi Dave,
There is a switch yes. I had this out and tested the reed switch with a magnet and checked for continuity, this read ok 0.3 ohms. Yes the LEDs on the display stop too.September 22, 2019 at 8:16 am #463082electrofix
Moderatorif display goes off its still a power supply problem. don’t know why the cap has not cured it but if its not a faulty cap then its most likely a board
