ParticipantHello!
I was running a normal wash cycle when my little grandson came in and switched the machine of at the socket. I can now not get the machine to reset. I press the reset buttons and the end light comes on but, the pump does not stop.
Is their another way to reset the machine?

That is the reset procedure. The drain pump should stop after 1 minute. Try it again. Incidentally, when the pump runs, if you then open the door will the pump stop or continue running with it open?
Please provide the full ENR number of the machine next time ( etched in the stainless door panel near the door latch) 😀

Martin,
The numbers etched on the door are:
SRS53602gb/28
Type SD13H1B
016020237327026831I tried the reset again, the pump did not turn off after 60secs, neither did it turn off after I opened the door. Also the pump turn on as soon as the on/off button is pressed.

The plastic baseplate is flooded, the anti-flood device has been activated. Power unplugged FIRST….then tip the machine gently backwards (not front or sideways) to allow the water to drain off. (have towels handy to soak up water spillage). Power back on and then do a reset once more. It should now work. 😀

Martin,
I have checked the flood plate by tipping the machine backwards, nothing ran out. Reset again still exactly the same.

Is there an engineering reset that can be performed.

No. Now it’s time to remove the lid and side panels and get inside to find out what’s happened. I’ve now got the right model number, you get out your tools and let’s go for it eh?

Martin,
I’ve removed the top and side panels? There is NO water in the bottom, or sign of ever having any water in the bottomDecember 18, 2013 at 6:38 pm #406493Martin

Now check the hoses and fill matrix for blockages. Strip and clean them thoroughly mind you!

Martin,
I’ve checked the hoses and fill matrix, it all appears to be ok., and clean. there is a slight build up of limescale in the waste part of the matrix.

There is a red rod coming from the base of the machine, which operates a micro switch this is down. If I lift it I can hear the switch operate and release.

That’s how it should be, I’m thinking you may have a problem with the pcb
