ParticipantHi
I am a newbie and hope you good folks can help me…
I have a Bosch Classixx 1200 S Express. E-Nr: WAE2416SBG/01 FD 8607.
Today it started acting strange. We have just returned from holiday with tons of laundry (4 kids!), and did 2 washes OK, then on 3rd wash machine started to fill then stalled, i.e. nothing else happened. I waited a while before draining and cleaning out pump sump port and checked impeller is ok. I then tried again and same result. I then set to ‘drain’ and machine drained itself and beeped on cycle end.
I then tried to start the wash cycle again and it started to fill then stalled again before drum had turned and filling continued. So, after leaving 5 mins with no activity I pulled machine out to view the E-Nr number and whilst doing so the cycle then started to run!… I left it and it ran to completion.
We then loaded another wash and it again stalled before drum turned during filling – So I turned off at mains for 5 mins. Turned back on and re-started the cycle and it ran OK.
I then wanted to spin this load at 1200 (easycare wash only spins at 800). The spin cycle went through the drain stage, drum turned a few times, but then cycle ended without the spin – I then turned off at mains for 5 mins and re-tried the 1200 spin cycle – it then went through drain stage and full spin cycle!
I then loaded another wash (I said we had a ton of laundry to do) and it did the same – i.e. It seems that I have to turn the mains off for 5 mins in order for the programme cycle to run, irrespective of the cycle itself.
Can anyone advise what this means? 😕
Many thanks in advance

*** Update *** After running washes all day – the problem appears to have rectified itself?
While we have been away on holiday, the machine has not been used for 17 days – is it possible that there is some sensor or switch that could perhaps be ‘gunked up’ or ‘sticking’ and after 8 washes today the internal moisture level has returned thereby the problem is not now occurring? ❓
Thanks

Hi
Its a domestic washing machine its not designed for continuous use, components need to cool down between loads.

Hi
Thank for your reply, I appreciate your comment and I know its a domestic machine. Yesterday was just the once a year family return from holiday with 2 weeks of laundry and it behaved faulty. The benefit of which was that having plenty of laundry to do allowed me to observe & diagnose the actual fault symptoms over the course of the day, hence my (rather wordy) post.
My question is does anyone know what component may cause the behaviour I experienced? i.e. after being stood unused for a couple of weeks the machine needed 5 min power off (which seemed to reset things) before a cycle would run. After doing 4 washes it then went back to normal? I think it unlikely the system was overheating through ‘over-work’ because it didn’t smell as if overheating (I had cover off) and logic suggests that the fault wouldn’t have have improved after several washes, it would have probably gone worse? 😉

I would suggest a sticking or worn motor brush.

Hi
Many thanks for your reply, if the fault behaviour recurs I will look at the brushes.

Update.. 😀
A few days ago my machine stopped working in that drum wouldn’t turn at all… so I bought a set of brushes. Just fitted them and its now running great now!
So many thanks for the advice!
