We have the above dishwasher running fine till yesterday when it stopped mid cycle with the water fault light on. Wouldnt run again after that. After searching through forums eventually emptied the water that was lying in the bottom.

Tried the pre was cycle and no pumping out happened then the water pumped in fine after a small delay (when the pump should be pumping out).

A lot of people are having similar problems but not the same. The solution to most of these is the impeller. Had a look but the only similar thing I can see is on the water infeed. Is there another on the outfeed ?

Also had a look at the pump but how the hell do you get into it ? It looks pretty sealed up.

I am pretty technical minded and love fixing things but I am at a loss with this.

I am at work just now (till 7) so dont have access to it tonight. Any help / guidance will be highly appreciated as that is what I shall be doing all day tomorrow.

remove filters, bail out as much as possible with a cup then thimble….chuck in an old bath towel to soak the rest up, left hand side is the impellor cover, pop that off and hopefully you will find something jamming the pump but be careful cos 50{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} of the time its chipped glass in there and people cut their fingers!

Took the thing outside before I came to work and emptied it.

Sorry for sounding thick but in relation to the removable filter, is it directly left of that on the side wall. Or is it the mushroom type thing ?

He he here is me saying I am technically minded !

Just remembered I saw a black plastic part within the recess of the removable filter. That must be it.

Sorted mate cheers. Got the black cover off and the impeller wasnt turning properly, turned it a few times with a pair of tweezers (ready to fish something out) until it was turning freely. Couldnt see anything apart from yellow string around it ?

Anyway hey presto ! A working dish washer.

    Thanks for the advice.

The pump will probably fail again as the ‘yellow string’ you can see is 90{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure to be a rear motor impellor seal. Was it more like an elastic band ?

If your appliance has the grey plastic base tub then to access the drain pump requires the machine to be laid on its back and then the removal of a metal base plate . Once this is off , all the working parts of the dishwasher will be revealed . The pump is a ‘twist’ fit and isn’t too bad a DIY job if i requires replacing.

Ensure you power off , switch off water supply and remove as much water from inside the tub as possible before laying the appliance down if you intend working on it .
