ParticipantHi all, hope you might be able to help us. We were using our five-year-old Bosch Classixx SPS40C12GB dishwasher today, and mid-cycle it started flashing the check water light. We’ve never had any problems with it before, and haven’t done anything to it beyond using it slightly more often than normal recently (daily vs probably twice weekly). The manual says for flashing light contact customer services, which we can of course do but suspect they might say to send an engineer out, which we’re hoping to avoid at present (if they are even doing callouts for non-essential white goods?) if this is something we can troubleshoot/fix. We turned it off at the mains as it was completely ignoring the power on/off switch even if held down. If turned back on it ran the drain pump for about 1 min while still flashing the light, and after that it just sat there, flashing the check water light. Having left it turned off for an hour or so, it has now cancelled the program properly and the light has gone – we’re running a prerinse cycle at present to see if it can do one normally or if any problem comes back. It seems to be fully draining and there’s no problem with the drain of the sink it’s connected to. The floor under the dishwasher is dry. We are in a hard water area, in case that’s relevant.
We have:
checked inlet filter – clear
checked inlet water pressure – fine
unplugged the dishwasher end of the inlet solenoid to measure resistance – seems normal, 4.7 kOhmIs there anything else we can try? Thanks!
edit: the prerinse cycle has completed normally and the warning light hasn’t come back. We’re going to try re-running the cycle type it failed on.
edit 2: the cycle has run completely normally and the items are clean. We didn’t do anything to fix any problem, I guess we just have to wait and see if the light comes back? -
