I have been searching for a solution to my problem and found this great forum so hope someone can help me solve it.

On the label it says that the model is E nr D5612X0GB 702, FD 7049 118467, Typ D-80X-117. It has a one-speed fan, a permanent (cleanable – and clean!) filter and is vented to the outside. It was in the house when we bought it from new and has always performed without a problem – til now!

The lights work fine but the fan is refusing to turn. When the switch is turned on there is a steady humming sound but no movement. The pitch of the hum doesn’t change. Before I remove the unit to look at it I am wondering what the possible causes are and if this is something a reasonably competent non-engineer can fix themselves. Any thoughts would be gratefully received.

Re: Bosch Cooker hood fan problems

The motor/fan unit will need removing and cleaning in the hope that just the fat/dirt build-up is causing it not to run. However, it’s likely that the unit will need replacing as it is generally not a serviceable item. A replacement costs around £70 ‘ish.

    Thanks Martin
I haven’t taken it out of the cupboard yet but haven’t seen any sort of service manual for this model on the internet – and I know Bosch customer service will be no use whatsoever. Will I need any form of diagram to remove and clean motor (or replace it if it comes to that) or should it be pretty self-explanatory?
Also do you supply this part?

Re: Bosch Cooker hood fan problems

No manual but being as the cooker hood is just a motor in a box, after all said and done, access is usually just a yucky/greasy but not too fiddly an excercise. 🙁

Replacement parts available directly from Bosch’s own website shown HERE…! 😀
