ParticipantHi Guys Went to look at a Bosch D/W SMS50E08EU/07 intermittently comes up with E24/E25 & does not drain sometimes. Had pump out & outlet hose & checked for debris etc. The pump seems to pulse erratically sometimes & the water switch motor/timer clicks sometimes when it’s trying to drain( I thought it was one of the relays on the board at first that was chattering). I have tried another pump & module(the one in the base) but no change with intermittent problem. The wash pump seems fine & no clicking from wash motor timer when washing.Anyone had this sort of problem before. Thanks Mack.

It is a DC controlled pump designed to pulse on and off if it encounters a blockage/restriction of some sort. Have you double checked the drain outlet? Or is the pump cover firmly in place?

Hi Martin
Yes it’s a 3 phase AC 55v pump(or so it says on the tin). I’m sure there are no blockages etc. This was still pulsating randomly when I had the spare pump plugged in sat on the floor. I think the key to this is why the wash motor stepper timer is clicking when the drain pump is activated. It sounded like there was something stuck in the pump at first but the noise is from the timer. As I said have tried a new module but same fault, could it be the control panel pcb. I don’t know which module controls the stepper motor.

When you reset these to drain , the drain pump will come on/go off 3 times before going into constant drain. These ‘pulses’ last a couple of seconds each. If you are getting very brief pulses i.e led than a second – then that norally indicates a jammed/failing drain pump.

like this one? 😉
Pump also ‘appeared’ to be OK but it obviously wasn’t.
