Complaint of leaking badly.
Appears to be overfilling, (lower spray arm appears sound )
This one doesn’t appear to have the impellor jug that seems to be a cause of a lot of overfilling posts on here.
What are the likely culprits on this machine. Is this the one with the mushroom doofer that needs a new module as well to cure?

ParticipantThis machine has a level float in the sump at about the 5 o’clock position as you look down into the sump after the cover/filter has been removed . you’ll see a small grey cover . Lift this and the float is under it. Check to make sure this isn’t all crudded up and sticking . I’ve had quite a few where the float has ‘stuck’ in the down position because of grease build- up ……and make a note of which way up it is as it has to go back in the same way

Thanks Paul. I did notice that the machine was tilted back quite a bit. I mentioned to her that it should really be as level as possible.
What does that mushroom doofer actually do. Is it an overflow switch?

ParticipantYes mate , the mushroom is just an overfill device that operates a microswitch to activate the pump should said overfill occur .
The fill on these is part timed , part controlled by the small level float . I usually remove the cover and filter to expose the sump , remove the small float cover , lift out the small float itself and then clean the channel that it runs up and down in , normally with some really hot water . The float will be half grey/half clear and the grey side should be uppermost

Mmmm, so if the mushroom is an overfill device why is it leaking badly after a short time after the cycle starts and seems to have too much water in it??????
Leaks from the door area BTW.
Forgot to mention, the drain outlet is a bit odd on this machine, routed from one side of the kitchen, round the wall to the other side, it did seem to drain out OK, perhaps a little slow.

Went back to this earlier today.
Made sure machine was level, removed the small ‘level float’ from the sump. TBH it was quite clean and moving freely.
Set machine to wash and it filled up and poured all over the floor, it never got to starting a wash action. 😥
Drained it out, tripped the door latch with a small screwdriver and reset it to fill, as it was filling I manually lifted the top of the mushroom and it stopped filling and drained out.
Do I have two faults on this machine, one causing an overflow and the other not preventing it???????
Jim.
