ParticipantHi,
I have a customer complaining about his bosch d/w leaking. I just wondered if there was a most common cause why Bosch d/w leak into the sump? Did a search but didn’t find much.

Check Pressure Chamber L/H Side + seals on wash pump and also pump to sump seal – check the pipe from sump to pressure chamber for blockage.

1) Water inlet matrix/pressure switch unit overflow due to gunge blockage.
2) Main circulation pump shaft seal leak.
3) Salt container/tub seal gasket leak.
4) Stainless tub rusted through (i.e tiny pin holes in bottom of tub adjacent fine mesh filter)
5) Someone opening the door mid-cycle to take something out, heat/steam belches out, door shut, mass of water shoots up the vent hose into base!
6) Inlet hose gasket leaking, dripping water into baseplate.
7) Rodent damage.
8] Overflow from gunged-up water inlet matrix (easy to suss, loads of brown shoose top left-hand corner, as it fills, water pi$$es out of the top!)
9) Bottom door seal
…and finally….
10) Bottom spray arm not located properly as squirting in all directions!
Hope that helps you pal?…. 😉

just take off both side panels and after removing water from the sump give it a quick run and keep your eyes open. then refer to martins list. the most awkward/expensive leak i had to fix was the seal on the heater box was perished but thats only one of countless dozens. chances are it will be a simple repair.

the most common, difficult to see, leak I have had on these are a leaking solonoid valve. Odd really as you rarely get them leaking on other appliances.
Usual suspects are, as stated above. -
