By far the easiest/quickest test is to lift the top spray pipe from the heater box cover. If you can rotate the diverter cam with a small screwdriver its drive gear has become disengaged. The most common failing on these and new Heater unit required.
The other ‘water point’, but less common, failing is that the gearing grey rubber water seal leaks into the drive motor and either floods the base, blows the module up or both! 😉
