My Bosch dishwasher (SMS6012 GB) trips the ELCB each time the door is opened. As an temporary solution I do my best to remeber to switch the machine using the on/off switch on the door panel. I guess a mirco switch or some other part has a leaky path to earth somewhere. Is this likely to be simple repair or is it something for the professionals? Any ideas?

Most likely broken/damaged wiring in the door down by the hinges. Awkward to repair properly – new wire should be spliced in. If you’re not confident, click the link below for an engineer. Power off if investigating further.

I have open the front as Penguin 45 suggested and found that the loom passing under the “hinge” has a cut caused by a sharp edge on the frame of the machine. Difficult to rewire/splice a replacement with out gaining access to both ends of the loom. Therefore as an expediancy I have placed between the sharp edge and the loom some heavy duty PVC to act as an additional means of insulation.

The ideal solution is to buy a replacment loom. However, I now have time to decide upon what action to take. A new loom or a new machine.

Any ideas if a new/replacement loom is obtainable?

    Many thanks for the suggestion

    Regards

Sadly a replacement wiring loom is not available for your model 🙁

A local engineer may be able to patch up and alternative though using other looms from other models ? (see link below for local advise on that)
