    Hello,
    My diswasher started giving me trouble after few years use now and today he decided that he is on strike..
    When i press the On/Off swich it does not stay on.So if i keep it pressed it works but as soon as i release my finger it goes off.
    Mddel is SM 65 and it is not electronic type.

    If u can suggest what should i do.
    Called bosch they think the entire swichboard may need replacement costs £60 and anothe £50 for engineer….may be a new dish washer be a better idea…

    Hi GMK,
    We’ll need a bit more to go on – SM65 is not the model number. Have a close look at the top off the inner door; you should find the model no. etched into the top surface.

    Some of these machines have a separate switch which is not too expensive, some are a combined “keyboard” which may be rather dear.

    Bosch is a quality brand, for a failure as simple as this one it may well be worth having it repaired.

    Bear in mind also that an independant repairer may well have a lower labour charge than sending for Bosch!

    If you check in “Directories”, you might find a local UKW repairer, or put your post code up in here and somebody may well respond.

    Checked the model number it is SMS 65

    GMK,

    You are still a little economical with the model number BUT assuming it is actually a SMS6502GB/01 to /07 series it will need a complete Push Button Switch Unit (Part No:- 151864) at a cost of around £70, I believe?

    It’s still not long enough, it will be SMS65??GB/??

    The nearest appears to be SMS6502GB/?? but there’s a few versions, all appear to have the same switch unit though, which is £63.87 inc VAT.

    The labour rate you have been quoted is about right to be honest.

    The model number is SMS 6502GB/07

    is it a DIY work…Unscrew the panel with * screwdriver.Takeout the swich and fit the new one…
    Can it be another problem other than switch…may be i buy a switch and find out later that it was something else.

    Your help is appreciated…

    It will almost certainly be the switch unit, that you need.
