Bosch dishwasher 19years old over filling

one for the golden oldies/ service man veteran.

Bosch Dishwasher sms4472gb/20. The normal filling process i am led to believe for this appliance takes place in 3 different phases at the beginning of a programme. I have a dishwasher here in the workshop and it takes 5 stages to fill rather then 3 thereby overfilling. Any ideas what it might be?

Had that once with the hotpoint version and it was the timer sticking

Blocked black rubber sump hose.

unfortunately martin, we’ve check that hose and its clear. im led to believe that if that hose is blocked it fails to fill the third time.

The timer hasnt clicked at all to pull the motor into action after the third fill it just continues to fill 5 times so im presuming like andy said its a stuck timer or a broken wire

Bingo

broken wire in the end. white wire from the mirco switch in the fill matrix feeds onto a overload stat and is looped onto another white wire that goes into a loom that feeds into the timer. the loom is glued in a green sleeving and broke in there. thanks for the feedback
