Bosch dishwasher does not drain

I have a Bosch Exxcel Max which unfortunately seems blocked, water lying at the bottom of the machine.I have no manual to find out where and what needs looking at so i was wondering where I can download one,I looked at Bosch own website but get no hits from Exxcel and Maxx.I also dont appear to have a model number anywhere.Could someone advise me please? Thank you

Model number is etched into the top edge of the inner door, next to the door latch. Typically will read ‘SGS—-GB/–‘. Enter that on http://www.bshappliancecare.com and you can call up the diagrams for your machine, or download user books.

You can access most Bosch drain pumps through a cover plate at the 9 o’clock position in the sump, under the filters. Bail out what you can first.

its verY faint but it seems to read SGS43EO2GB/45

NB .I cut and paste that model number but got no return.It asks for an E number, whatever that is 😕

Oh I see the E number is the model number, now the nearest i can find to it is SGS43EO2GB/43.Would this be ok do you think?

yes , that is the ENr number . OK , 1st things 1st . On the front of the appliance , there should be a ‘reset’ sign under the buttons . With the machine switched on and door closed , press the two buttons indicated by the reset sign….your appliance should switch to ‘end’ or ‘0’ minutes left dependant on model. Give it a couple of seconds and the pump should fire up ….you should hear it running , attempting to pump out.

There are now 2 things to check.

1. If you can’t hear the pump fire up then this would normally indicate a pump blockage. Remove as much water as possible from the appliance and in the bottom of the sump , after the filters have been removed , you will see a single screw holding a white plate . Remove this screw (Torx 20) and the white cover. This will give you access to the pump impellor allowing you to check for a foreign object. IMPORTANT POINT – Make sure you replace the cover and screw before testing as the pump won’t work without these in place.

2. If you can hear the pump running but its not draining then this would indicate a blockage in a hose/connection. Check your drain hose , especially if its connected directly to your sink waste .

❗ A dishwasher is for Washing. to prevent future blockages always scrape plates off into the bin to remove all large leftovers, then rinse plates off prior to dishwashing – you wouldnt put a gravy/sauce-laden plate into a fresly run washing up bowl, so dont do it to the poor d/w! ❗

PS make sure you regularly check the filter, apprix every month if used daily!
