The door catch has broken on my dishwasher. It is a Bosch SMS4472, 13 years old but works perfectly. Would it be possible to find a catch for this model and if so is it easy to fit. I assume I would have to take the front panel of the door off but not sure how it comes apart. Any help/advice would be welcome.

Door catch assembly is part number 056218. spares@ukwhitegoods.co.uk will get you one promptly.
Door and control panel need to come off. Undo the 6 screws down the inside of the door edges and the panel will lift away intact. Latch clips into place – I recall that there is a locking tongue you need to depress to release the old catch.

Thank you for your help. The part number that you have given me is the door catch which I think is okay. I did not describe the problem properly as it is the door handle that is broken – I believe it is part no. 056480 but not sure if this will fit my model. If it is just the handle to replace will I have to dismantle the door as you describe?

056480 is the correct part number. You can get it HERE.
No disassembly required for fitting, simply pull down firmly on the remains of the old one to remove. Insert tongues at the end of the new handle into the slots at about 45 degrees, the lft the handle to click home.
If you take more than 5 minutes, you’re doing something wrong……. 😀
