    Hello.
Any help appreciated with a Bosch SMS40A08GB/09. The problem with the dishwasher is that it will not drain if the hose is above knee height lower it slightly and it drains. Its got the newer square type drain pump. Fitted new pump still got the same problem 😥 are there any known issues that could cause this. Thanks Rolf

Where does the drain hose terminate? Is it standard length?

    Thank you Martin.
Funny you should ask that because it has been extended,I did try it at its normal length and still had the same problem, but its difficult to replicate it into a bowl. could you elaborate any more on that Martin.
    Kind regards Rolf

You might like to check the one way drain valve. That could be your problem.

another possibility is that inside the sump the plastic pump cover is detached or missing. These pumps will not function without it in place, worth a check

Thanks Squadman, I did check the cover was in place so going to try and get back and have a look at this valve thingy. The older type you could access from inside the washer but this little contraption is in line with the drain hose by the looks of it.
