ParticipantHi
I have a Bosch SGV46M43GB / 01 dishwasher that has the water inlet warning light on and it fills and drains continuously.
I have tried changing the impeller jug but has made no difference. I’ve tipped it on its side/back/front with no success so have now hit a dead end as to what it could be other than potentially the water inlet valve but unsure about this.
If it could be this then would someone be able to post a link to the replacement part so i can see exactly what it is i need to replace?
Any help or other suggestions would be gratefully received. Thanks…

Impellor jug is the most likely reason and needs to be fitted the correct way round for it to work. Assuming you’ve done that then a blocked transfer pipe and/or blocked pressure chamber the 2nd most likely reason for those symptoms.

Thanks for the reply Martin.
I’ve been trying to fix the machine with no luck still. I’ve tried changing the Impellor Jug and the Switch as there looked to be a bit of scorching on the rubber panel next to the switch on the inside but this hasn’t fixed it.
There’s definitely no blockage from the infill through to the sump so any other suggestions before I have to call out an engineer would be much appreciated.
cheers, Simon

What switch, what rubber panel?

The overfill switch i guess it is and the black panel of the machine…

Not sure what you mean by overfill switch but you may be referring to the float switch on the pressure chamber? The pressure chamber (attached just below the water inlet matrix) will need removing and cleaning. As will the transfer tube that leads from the pressure chamber to the sump.
As for the “black panel” I guess you refer to the black tarred sound insulation material stuck to the stainless tub?

The switch is this one:

It looks like it has got warm and bubbled the black sound insulation that it sits very close to. A bit of a shot in the dark replacing this but didn’t work.
I’ve removed the float and pressure chamber and cleaned them as well as the transfer tube that leads to the sump.
I think i’m at the end of trying to fix this myself unfortunately. The only other thing is maybe the switch did get warm but shorted something else out that connects to it.
Thanks for your replies, much appreciated…

Those microswitches rarely fail. They never overheat and short out either. The black tarred insulation is not conductive either so bit of a red herring issue there overall.
Another quick question before you throw in the towel and call out a local expert…..I trust you fitted the Impellor jug the correct way round? It is easy to fit it wrong, but there is an arrow pointing the direction of flow on the plastic casing….Just a thought. 😀
