ParticipantHello, I have a problem with a Bosch dishwasher that showed no signs of power and wouldn’t switch on. I checked the wall outlet and it was working and tested for power going into the back of the dishwasher and it was fine. I removed the control module to find some components burned on the pcb. I’m looking for a replacement board and found one on eBay but the digits are not exactly the same. My dishwasher’s model number is SMV40T10GB/07 and the control module has the numbers EPG60613 and 9000683387. The control module on eBay was removed from a dishwasher with the model number SMV40T10GB/14 and the number on the control module has the number EPG60614. Will the replacement control module still work in my dishwasher or do the numbers have to be exactly the same? Also what could cause components on the pcb to burn? When I opened the dishwasher after this happened there was water still in the bottom that hadn’t drained. Could a faulty heater or drain pump cause this or do pcb’s just go bad sometimes. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

you need to find out why it has blown up first.
you do not want to buy a new board and the same thin happens

What things would you check to see what could have caused it? Do you think the control module will work on a machine with the same model number except the last two digits are different? I definitely don’t want another board to blow. Thanks

if you go here
http://www.bosch-home.co.uk/store/spareparts/searchput the Enr number in and look up the part number for both donor and your machine if they match there is a chance it will be compatible. the only word of warning is some timers have the option of being configured for different machines despite having the same part number. I am not sure if this can be altered after they have been configured
as for the old timer. look at where it has gone bang and look at the tracks leading to the plugs. if any of them are damaged its likely wherever that wire goes will be the fault
you could post a good picture of the damage and either myself or other members may have an ideayou also have to think twice when Bosch have priced your board at £148

I checked the Bosch website and unfortunately the donor module has a different part number than my machine. Good advice on following the tracks to the plugs and also thanks for the link to the Bosch website. Dave when you say the timers can be configured different does that mean that the wash cycle and heat cycle may take longer or also may be quicker depending on how it’s configured? Thanks

I think its different programmes but may not be the whole story as Bosch tech is not easy to get
