Bosch dishwasher Sms40a08gb with the heat pump tripping the mains when it’s running. It’s for my neighbour which makes this worse.
I’ve swapped so many, I carry one on the van.

So I swapped it and now it’s running without tripping but it’s just not heating. I got a temperature rise to about 25 degrees but never any steam. It does finish its cycle.
I suspect it’s damaged the pcb but has anybody got any ideas before I go back and take my heat pump out.

    cheers

Yeah, I’ve taken the board out and looked for damage, absolutely nothing. I’ve even given all the relays a good tap to see if one of them had stuck with the heater shorting out but no change.

Yes, it’s the one listed on connect for the machine. I did think that but I double checked the number.
Does this make a difference by the way, because I always fit this part number to most and haven’t had a problem so far. They all look identical to me, same wiring and same ratings etc, but as luck has it this one is the correct one.

Yes it has to be the correct part number to the series of the model. Go onto bosch website to confirm. Had same problem before. All depends on the windings, current the motor is pulling and communicating with the pcb

Yes, i can confirm, the motor is the correct one for the model. I checked at the time and ive double checked again. I can only presume that the motor constantly tripping has damaged the board. The customer said they let it trip about 5 or 6 times before calling me out. No visible damage to the board. Im going to have to BER it I think.
