Recently our dishwasher has been performing poorly with dishes often coming out dirty (though some dishes in the same wash being clean).

Then a short while ago on some washes, when the washer finished, there was a burnt smell. However, it seemed to be OK and subsequent washes the burnt smell would slowly disappear.

A couple of days ago, however, we put the washer on the normal (auto) cycle and after 3 hours it was still washing and showing 180 minutes to go. After using reset to drain it, I tried the eco cycle. It started out saying that it would take 120 minutes. After an hour it was down to about 60 minutes. After another 30 minutes or so it was up to 130 minutes. I did not leave it washing and, again, drained it using reset.

Any ideas what is going wrong? I did wonder if the drainage is partly blocked as the sump seems to be very dirty. But I have cleared this out using a jug but to no avail. Any suggestions as to the cause? Anything I can easily fix?

    Thanks,
    Rob

you likely either have an underfilling issue (sludged up pipework/matrix/transfer pipe) a failed heater or a failed control board.

    check out the thread below

    http://www.ukwhitegoods.co.uk/modules.p … ch+heating

If you take the lid and sides off how clean does the water matrix and pressure chamber look (lhs of the machine from the front)?

You can eliminate the heater by measuring the resistance across it.

If it is the pcb then thats another story………
