Hi,
I’ve got a Bosch Series 4 Dishwasher (SMS40A08GB). It’s a couple years old.
I’ve had a leak occurring for an unknown amount of time from the rear of the dishwasher.
After pulling it out, drying up and setting a dehumidifier to run for a couple of days, I plumbed back in ran it in the kitchen.
Theres a grey panel with seal that runs across the bottom quarter of the rear panel – secured by two torx screws and it sits just above the slightly different coloured grey plastic unit that has the power lead, drain hose and feed.
When the dishwasher is cold, there is no leak, but the moment hot water starts moving around, the back appears to bow and every time the pump pumps hot water, I get a small spray of water out-of the seal.
I could only find a couple of instances of this, so am unsure if its a common fault. Is there a seal missing? Or does it degrade over time? A manufacturer fault? And is it repairable?
Siliconing the seal will only degrade overtime. I’d just like to know if I’ll be looking at January sales for new dishwashers…
I can’t upload a picture either due to forum limits?
Thanks.
James.
