Bosch Dishwasher – Leaking Water on Delivery

Bought a new Bosch dishwasher last night, from Currys.
A member of staff placed it in the car.

When I got it home, I noticed it was leaking water, and after a closer look I noticed that one side of the machine was wet from top to bottom.

Currys have said that the Dishwashers are tested before delivery to the store, hence the water. I was wondering if this was correct, or if it simply got wet while in storage.

Many people must take the machine’s home in the car sideways, so does every machine run the risk of having wet electronics / rusting on the inside?

Keep it upright or yes it will leak out of door. They should give stores in house traing as how to load/transport appliances especially fridges and freezers. Ive seen them load fridges etc on their back and sideways in cars, and sayleave it for a few hours be ok, what b*llox.

Back to topic, try appliance Im sure it will be fine. If you are unhappy, I would return it to store (upright) and express your concerns.

Sounds like the stores should be recommending using the delivery service, as most people transporting it themselves would be using a car, where it’s impossible to transport the Dishwasher upright…so running the risk of getting the electronics & pumps wet.

Maybe Bosch could empty all of the water out after testing?

Thanks for the advice Greg. Going to take it back, and ask for a replacement to be delivered (Delivery charge of £16, but probably worth it).

All manufacturers water test, so would be same for any make.
