Bosch dishwasher – no heat

Hi Hope you can help..

We have a bosch dishwasher sgs6312gb/13 that has stopped “heating up” it seems to run through the process and we have tried different programmes but it is still cold.

The machine is approx 4 yrs old and is not used heavily,no previous problems.

Any thoughts anyone – i am electrically “competent” but am not an appliance person.

Most likely cause is failure of printed circuit board at heater relay connection, con sometimes be resoldered if not new board required.
if you are unsure best to contact experienced engineer either post your post code or use ‘directory’ to the left of forum column.

As we always say PULL OUT THE PLUG

Thanks for the view.

We will probably get someone in. You never know sometimes it’s a “thats well known and is caused by a £2 switch failing” answer. In which case i would be happy to swap the offending part.

I work for an “electricity board” (as was!) and miss not having “our” appliance guys to ask these questions of (times change and we only do our core work now), the site seems to be an excellent resource – one for my favourites.

Hi mine has done the same thing, it is the same model and age. How did you get it fixed and what was the problem ?

Hi andrew,

As Sparky says the heater relay on these suffers from dry/burnt contact. Its an easy fix, usually without parts.

If you look in the directories section(on the left) and punch in your post code to see if we one of us is in your area.
