ParticipantHi. I have a Bosch dishwasher which is not draining properly. It looks like the pump is OK and free from debris. It has been suggested that the problem could be that the upper spray arm connected to the upper basket is not connecting properly to the feed tube. Does this sound like a feasible reason for not draining properly? Many thanks

Thanks for the reply. Turns out it’s a Siemens SE64A630GB/17. Brain fade on my part (last one was a Bosch) :boops: When it first started playing up an engineer came and got it working again by putting some tape on the prong on the feed tube that fits into the upper spray arm. This worked for a while but now back to square one. As far as i can see, the connection is sound hence why i questioned this as being the reason the appliance won’t drain. thanks

Not draining is a drain pump/ drain outlet issue and nothing whatsoever to do with the spray arms. The spray arms are for washing and the pump for draining. :rolls:

Thanks. That’s exactly why i wanted to check with the experts on this forum. This morning I took the pump cover off, removed the black rubber non return valve, put the pump cover back on and ran a quick cycle – this seemed to work fine. I then returned the non return valve and it still seems to be working OK. Should i replace the non return valve (condition looks OK to me but i am no expert) or should i just assmume it wasn’t sitting right? Thanks again for help on this forum P.S engineer wanted £63 to replace the feed tube and top spray arm despite no signs of damage 🙁

It wouldn’t harm changing the non-return valve (part no: 165262) as it is less than 3 quid direct from Siemens own eShop. 🙂
